Celebrating local food and fermentation practices through collaborative cooking demonstrations and hands on educational workshops. We want to build a community around food and its culture. We also cater for small events providing non-alcoholic fermented beverages.

Fermentation has never been so easy.

State of the art commercial kitchen on wheels. We host food events in the Southwest of WA.

Our event workspace can cater for up to 50 adults or children. Participating in structured cooking and food preparation demonstrations. Strong focus on fermentation and cultured food/beverages. We supply everything from equipment, music, drinks, and locally sourced produce that make our experiences unique.

Farm events, and catering with a difference

We want to highlight farms that do things a bit differently. Give people an opportunity to taste and experience the magic of fermentation. Open air dining & food experience like no other.

School events, hands on messy fun for the kids

Programs suitable for different ages, half or full day, interactive school based events. Learn about lacto fermentation and how to preserve foods like our ancestors did! (Montessori inspired learning)

Many cultures throughout history have preserved food. It has always been a community based activity, everyone pitches in to help. We want to bring that experience back & create new traditions around locally produced food.

Online culture shop, everything you need to get brewing

We are fermenting and brewing drinks most weeks in our Lab . If you want to do the same at home without the hassle, grab one of our ready to brew bags. Add your own fruit or vegetables and away you go.

What is The Culture Lab Kitchen?

A mobile event space and food kitchen. Focusing on community engagement around food. Learn and experience something new, without the boring bits!

Everyone! We are all inclusive and pride ourselves on family friendly experiences. Kids always need to be supervised during hands on food preparation.

Yes, most of our events are ticketed. We need to know how much food and event material to provide. 

No, not necessarily. Kids under 13 are free but must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Strictly one child per adult policy. We have participating areas and non-participating areas, parents are welcome to tag team in and out of these areas with a single ticket. 

Yes. Non-alchoholic drinks and cold water can be purchased at the events. Food is included in the ticket price, you can include additional portions of food for the rest of the family, even if they are not participating in the cooking demonstration. Please do this when booking your ticket online.
